Applied Kinesiology in La Vergne for Functional Assessment

Applied kinesiology gives patients a structured way to discuss movement, muscle response, and physical discomfort. It may suit people recovering from auto accidents, workplace injuries, sports injuries, or everyday pain.

The main decision is whether an assessment adds useful detail to the care plan. We review the patient’s history and current concerns, then connect the findings to chiropractic treatment when appropriate.

This service has limits. It does not replace medical care for serious illness, major trauma, or symptoms that need urgent medical evaluation. Our team explains when another type of care should be considered.

  • Bring a clear description of the pain, injury, or movement problem.
  • Share past treatment details and changes in daily activity.
  • Ask how muscle response and movement findings relate to care.
  • Discuss whether spinal adjustments, corrective exercises, or soft-tissue therapy fit the findings.

Service Overview

Applied kinesiology is a hands-on assessment method that checks muscle response, posture, and movement patterns.

  • It differs from a spinal adjustment because the assessment focuses on body response before treatment choices are made.
  • Advanced Injury Care Clinic provides this service for patients in La Vergne.

How We Approach Applied Kinesiology

Start with the patient’s main concern

Your symptoms and injury history shape the first assessment. We review the problem before choosing any treatment step, and we offer upfront pricing.

Connect findings to care

Muscle response, posture, and movement patterns are discussed in plain language. The findings may guide spinal adjustments, corrective exercises, or soft-tissue therapy.

Know when another service fits

Applied kinesiology is not the right choice for every complaint. Severe trauma, urgent symptoms, or conditions outside musculoskeletal care need another medical pathway.

Process

How We Complete an Applied Kinesiology Assessment

1

Review the health history

We discuss the injury, symptoms, past care, and daily activities that affect movement.

2

Check muscle response

Muscle testing uses guided positions to observe response and compare it with the patient’s reported concern.

3

Review posture and movement

We look at posture and movement patterns during suitable, comfortable actions.

4

Explain the findings

The provider gives a report of findings and answers questions in plain language.

5

Discuss the care plan

We discuss whether chiropractic treatment, corrective exercises, therapeutic modalities, or another referral fits the findings.

What This Assessment Can Clarify

Muscle testing may show where movement control needs closer review.

Posture review gives context for strain linked to sitting, standing, or daily activity.

Movement checks help connect a symptom with how the body performs a task.

A clear report of findings helps patients understand the next care decision.

Patients can discuss maintenance care when recurring strain affects normal movement.

This place is amazing. The staff is friendly. The office is clean and laid back. Not much of a wait. The doctor walks you through every step and tells you what he’s going to do and has answers any questions I’ve had to the best of his knowledge. Normally I am afraid to go to doctors and be in offices but this place has been a different experience. I would recommend anyone to come here. The front desk ladies are helpful and friendly

Questions About Applied Kinesiology Care

What happens during an applied kinesiology assessment?

Functional assessment starts with a health history, then checks muscle response, posture, and movement patterns.

  1. We review your concern and injury history.
  2. We perform guided muscle testing.
  3. We discuss posture and movement findings.
  4. We explain suitable next steps.

Advanced Injury Care Clinic uses these findings to discuss chiropractic care that fits your condition.

Who is a good fit for applied kinesiology, and who needs different care?

Patients with musculoskeletal pain, movement limits, or injury concerns may fit this assessment. People with severe trauma, urgent symptoms, or conditions outside musculoskeletal care need another medical evaluation. Auto accident injuries, workplace injuries, sports injuries, back pain, and neck pain are concerns we can discuss. Individual response differs, so the assessment guides the next decision.

What does the provider look at first?

The health history comes first because symptoms and past injuries shape the assessment. We ask about pain, activity limits, prior care, and changes in daily movement. Posture and muscle response follow when those checks fit the concern. Patients should share new symptoms and bring relevant treatment information so the findings have useful context.

How do muscle testing and spinal adjustments differ?

Muscle testing assesses response, while a spinal adjustment applies a hands-on treatment technique. The two steps answer different care questions. Testing may help us understand movement or muscle concerns, while an adjustment addresses a joint or spinal finding within the care plan. We explain why a technique fits before treatment begins.

When should someone request an assessment after an injury?

Request an assessment when pain, stiffness, weakness, or changed movement continues after an injury. Auto accidents, workplace injuries, and sports injuries can affect movement even when symptoms shift over time. In La Vergne, patients can discuss the injury history during an appointment and learn whether chiropractic assessment fits. Urgent or severe symptoms need medical evaluation.

Why might back pain return after treatment?

Back pain may return when movement habits, muscle control, joint irritation, or the original injury remain active. A new assessment reviews current symptoms instead of assuming the cause stayed the same. We compare the present concern with your history and discuss exercises, soft-tissue therapy, spinal adjustments, or another care path when suitable.

Which information should I bring to the first appointment?

Bring your symptom history, injury details, current medicines, and records from related treatment. A simple note about what worsens or eases the pain can help. You should also mention prior imaging or diagnoses if available. The new patient intake and health history help us plan the assessment and explain the next step.
