About

How applied kinesiology guides a focused care plan

Applied kinesiology gives us a structured way to review muscle response during a chiropractic evaluation. We listen to your concerns, review your health history, and examine movement before we discuss care. Manual muscle testing is one part of the visit. We consider those findings with your symptoms and physical exam, so the plan fits the full picture. Care may include spinal adjustments, corrective exercises, therapeutic modalities, or injury rehabilitation. This service isn't a promise that one test explains every symptom. Individual response differs, and some concerns need broader medical attention. Our team explains what the assessment shows and what the next care step involves.

What Applied Kinesiology Covers

Applied Kinesiology is a chiropractic assessment method that uses manual muscle testing to review movement and muscle response.

  • Applied kinesiology differs from a general symptom review because the assessment connects muscle response with the patient’s health history and physical exam.
  • Nashville patients receive this service as part of a broader chiropractic evaluation, not as a stand-alone promise of a specific result.
Process

What happens during an applied kinesiology visit

1

Share your health history

You describe your pain, injury, activity limits, and health concerns. We use that information to focus the examination.

2

Complete the physical assessment

We review movement and use manual muscle testing to assess muscle response. The findings add detail to the health history and exam.

3

Review the findings

Our team explains what the assessment shows in plain language. We discuss how the findings relate to your reported symptoms.

4

Build the care plan

We select appropriate care options, which may include spinal adjustments, corrective exercises, therapeutic modalities, or injury rehabilitation.

5

Check progress over time

Follow-up visits help us review your response and adjust the plan when your condition or goals change.

What to prepare before your assessment

A few details can help us make your first applied kinesiology visit more focused.

  • Bring a list of current symptoms and where they occur.
  • Note when the pain began and what makes it better or worse.
  • Share details about any auto accident, workplace injury, or sports injury.
  • Bring relevant medical records if you already have them.

This place is amazing. The staff is friendly. The office is clean and laid back. Not much of a wait. The doctor walks you through every step and tells you what he’s going to do and has answers any questions I’ve had to the best of his knowledge. Normally I am afraid to go to doctors and be in offices but this place has been a different experience. I would recommend anyone to come here. The front desk ladies are helpful and friendly

Questions about muscle response assessments

Who provides applied kinesiology at your Nashville clinic?

Advanced Injury Care Clinic provides applied kinesiology within its chiropractic care services. The visit includes a health history, physical examination, and manual muscle testing. Our team then explains the findings and discusses care options that fit your condition. Those options may include spinal adjustments, corrective exercises, therapeutic modalities, or injury rehabilitation.

What does an applied kinesiologist do during an assessment?

An applied kinesiology assessment reviews muscle response alongside your symptoms and physical findings. We begin with your health history, then examine movement and use manual muscle testing. The results help us discuss a personalized treatment plan. Applied kinesiology is one part of care, so we consider the full examination before selecting next steps.

Is applied kinesiology the same as regular kinesiology?

No, applied kinesiology is a chiropractic assessment approach, while kinesiology broadly studies human movement. Applied kinesiology uses manual muscle testing within a health history and physical exam. Our team uses that information to guide chiropractic care when it fits your condition. The assessment does not replace a broader medical evaluation when one is needed.

What should I bring to my first assessment?

Your symptom history, injury details, and current medical information help us focus the first visit. Bring the following if they apply:

  • A list of current symptoms
  • Details about an accident, work injury, or sports injury
  • Relevant medical records
  • Your main movement or daily activity goal

These details help connect the health history with the physical examination.

What changes the cost of applied kinesiology care?

The cost depends on the visit type, examination needs, and care options included in your plan. A visit focused on assessment may differ from care that also includes adjustments, exercises, modalities, or rehabilitation. Contact our office for appointment and pricing information. We explain available services and care options before treatment begins.

Can applied kinesiology help after an auto accident?

Yes, applied kinesiology can be included in care for people recovering from auto accidents. We review the injury history, symptoms, movement limits, and muscle response during the assessment. Your plan may include chiropractic treatment and injury rehabilitation. Results vary, so our team discusses the findings and next steps based on your condition.

Scenarios

When Customers Call Us About Applied Kinesiology

1

Pain After a Car Accident

Neck pain, headaches, and soft-tissue discomfort can appear after a collision. Applied kinesiology gives our team a way to review muscle response alongside your injury history and exam. Bring any records you have, describe how the symptoms affect daily tasks, and schedule an evaluation so we can discuss a focused care plan.

2

Back Pain That Keeps Returning

Repeated back pain can make work, exercise, and routine movement harder. The key question is how your muscles and joints respond during the exam, not just where the pain is felt. Write down your pain pattern and activity limits before your visit, then let our team connect those details with the assessment.

3

Sports Injury With Limited Motion

A sports injury may affect movement beyond the spot that hurts. Our assessment reviews muscle response and joint motion, while corrective exercises or other chiropractic care may support your recovery plan.
