TMJ Treatment in La Vergne for Jaw-Related Symptoms

This service is for people whose jaw symptoms affect eating, speaking, sleep, or daily comfort. The work may address jaw pain, clicking sounds, facial tension, and headaches when the examination connects them to jaw or neck function.

The key decision is fit. Our team checks your health history, jaw motion, muscle tenderness, neck movement, and related symptoms before choosing care. A dental or medical evaluation may be more suitable when symptoms point outside musculoskeletal care.

Care can include spinal adjustments, soft tissue therapy, therapeutic modalities, and corrective exercises. Individual response differs, so the plan is reviewed as your condition changes.

  • Jaw opening and closing are checked for motion and discomfort.
  • The health history includes injury details, symptom patterns, and related neck concerns.
  • The care plan connects treatment choices to the findings from the examination.
  • Symptoms outside musculoskeletal care are referred for appropriate medical or dental attention.

Service Overview

TMJ treatment is a care plan that addresses jaw joint function, nearby muscles, and related neck movement.

  • Jaw-focused care differs from general chiropractic treatment because the assessment centers on chewing muscles, jaw motion, and symptoms linked to the temporomandibular joint.
  • Advanced Injury Care Clinic provides this care for patients in La Vergne and the surrounding Middle Tennessee communities.

How We Approach Jaw Symptoms

Assessment before treatment

The first visit examines jaw motion, neck movement, muscle tension, and symptom patterns. This helps us select care that fits the findings.

Care matched to your condition

A personalized treatment plan may combine spinal adjustments, soft tissue therapy, therapeutic modalities, and corrective exercises. Individual response differs, so we adjust the plan as needed.

Knowing when care does not fit

Jaw-focused chiropractic care is not the right job for every facial or jaw complaint. Severe swelling, dental problems, infection signs, or other medical concerns need evaluation from the appropriate medical or dental provider.

Process

How Jaw-Focused Care Moves Forward

1

Record symptoms and health history

The new patient intake covers jaw pain, clicking sounds, facial tension, injury details, and your daily movement concerns.

2

Check jaw and neck movement

The examination reviews jaw opening, closing, tracking, neck motion, muscle tenderness, and related soft-tissue findings.

3

Set the treatment plan

We explain which care options fit the examination, such as soft tissue therapy, spinal adjustments, or corrective exercises.

4

Review progress and next steps

Follow-up checks how your symptoms and movement respond, then guides continued care or another referral when needed.

This place is amazing. The staff is friendly. The office is clean and laid back. Not much of a wait. The doctor walks you through every step and tells you what he’s going to do and has answers any questions I’ve had to the best of his knowledge. Normally I am afraid to go to doctors and be in offices but this place has been a different experience. I would recommend anyone to come here. The front desk ladies are helpful and friendly

Questions About Jaw-Focused Care

What symptoms can TMJ treatment address?

Headaches, jaw pain, clicking sounds, and facial tension may relate to jaw or neck movement. We assess those links during the first visit.

The examination reviews jaw motion, muscle tenderness, neck movement, and your health history. Care may include soft tissue therapy, spinal adjustments, therapeutic modalities, or corrective exercises when those options fit the findings. Individual response differs, and another provider may be more suitable for dental or medical causes.

How does a TMJ treatment visit move from the first call to the last step?

The visit moves from intake and examination to treatment planning and progress review.

The new patient intake records your symptoms and health history. We then assess jaw and neck movement, explain suitable care, and begin the plan when appropriate. Follow-up visits review movement and symptoms, while unresolved concerns may lead to a referral.

What should I bring to my first jaw care appointment?

Bring a list of current symptoms, relevant injury details, health history, and questions about your jaw function.

Records about prior care can also help if you have them. Tell us when the pain or clicking began, what makes it worse, and whether eating, speaking, sleep, or neck movement changes your symptoms. That information supports a more focused examination.

Which part of the jaw problem decides the treatment scope?

The examination findings decide the treatment scope, especially jaw motion, muscle tension, neck movement, and symptom patterns.

A clicking sound alone does not set the plan. We also consider injury history and how symptoms affect daily activity. Those details help us choose between soft tissue therapy, spinal adjustments, corrective exercises, therapeutic modalities, or referral for another type of care.

How can I tell whether jaw-focused chiropractic care fits my symptoms?

Jaw-focused chiropractic care may fit musculoskeletal jaw or neck symptoms that we can assess during an examination.

Severe swelling, infection signs, dental damage, or other medical concerns need evaluation from the appropriate provider. Patients in La Vergne can describe their symptoms during scheduling, then discuss fit after the health history and physical exam.

Why do jaw symptoms sometimes include neck tension?

Jaw and neck muscles work together, so strain in one area may affect movement and comfort in the other.

Our assessment checks both areas instead of viewing the jaw in isolation. We may use soft tissue therapy, spinal adjustments, or corrective exercises when the findings support those choices. Symptoms that suggest another cause need appropriate medical or dental review.
